The GUHRING 9006680023800 is a taper length twist drill bit engineered for precision drilling in aluminum alloy, brass, and steel. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a web-thinned, parabolic flute design, this bit reduces cutting resistance and improves chip evacuation during deep-hole applications. The 130-degree split point starts on contact without center-punching on most surfaces. At 3/32 inch (0.0938 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 3-3/4 inches and a flute length of 2-7/16 inches, it suits production drilling where standard jobber bits fall short in depth capacity. Licensed HVAC techs, plumbers, machinists, and industrial maintenance trades reach for Series 668 geometry when chip packing and wandering are concerns.
This bit is designed for applications where a taper-length reach is needed beyond standard jobber drill lengths. The parabolic flute with parallel web geometry handles multi-material applications across aluminum alloy, brass, and steel substrates in both light manufacturing and field maintenance settings. A cylindrical shank with a diameter of 2.38 mm seats cleanly in standard drill chucks and collet toolholders. The 10xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports a maximum drilling depth of 2.30 inches (58.43 mm), making it suitable for through-hole and blind-hole work in typical trade applications.
Designed for use in standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power drills equipped with chucks that accept a 2.38 mm cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling aluminum alloy, brass, and steel per the Series 668 material application rating.
Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify runout before beginning a drilling cycle. Disconnect or de-energize the drill press or power tool before changing bits. Use cutting fluid appropriate to the workpiece material to extend tool life when drilling steel. Dispose of worn or chipped bits properly; do not attempt to resharpen without proper grinding equipment calibrated to the original 130-degree point geometry.
