The GUHRING 9006680015900 is a taper length twist drill bit designed for precision drilling in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a coated finish for extended tool life, this bit features a 130-degree split point and a parabolic flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced heat buildup. The cylindrical shank measures 1.59 millimeters in diameter and fits standard drill chucks. The bit carries a web-thinned, parallel web configuration and conforms to DIN 340 standards. It is rated as a high-performance grade drill bit suited for production and maintenance environments where tight tolerances and consistent performance are required.
This drill bit is intended for use on aluminum alloy, brass, and steel workpieces. With a 0.0625-inch (1/16-inch) diameter and a 3-inch overall length, it is well suited for through-hole and taper-length drilling tasks in light manufacturing, tool and die, HVAC equipment fabrication, and general metalworking. The 10xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper drilling passes with the parabolic flute design managing chip clearing. Maximum drilling depth is 1.875 inches (47.62 millimeters). This bit is a Series 668 product from GUHRING and is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use on aluminum alloy, brass, and steel workpieces. Compatible with standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 1.59-millimeter cylindrical shank. Conforms to DIN 340 taper length standards.
This drill bit is installed and operated by machinists, tool and die workers, and metalworking technicians using standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, or hand-held power drills with compatible chucks. Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped and the spindle speed is appropriate for the material and bit diameter before beginning. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit, so adequate surface-applied cutting fluid is recommended when drilling steel to manage heat. Inspect the bit for wear or chipping before each use and replace when the cutting edge shows signs of degradation.
