Built from cobalt high-speed steel and finished with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this bit delivers extended tool life and improved wear resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. It carries a wire gauge designation of No. 67, equivalent to 0.0319 inches in decimal, with a 118-degree faceted point angle and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration for reduced thrust and cleaner entry. The 0.984-inch overall length and 1.50 mm straight-cylindrical shank make it suited for high-precision spindle work requiring consistent, repeatable hole quality.
This drill bit is rated primarily for aluminum and non-ferrous materials, with secondary suitability for titanium alloys. It fits applications in aerospace component machining, precision instrument manufacturing, and general metalworking where tight hole tolerances and small-diameter accuracy are critical. The right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation in short-hole drilling. Maximum drilling depth is 4.09 mm (0.161 inches), consistent with its 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio. Confirm spindle runout is within acceptable limits, as micro-diameter tooling is highly sensitive to misalignment.
