Product Description

The GUHRING 9006600001700 is a cobalt micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial and toolroom applications. Built to DIN 1899 standards, this wire gauge size 95 bit measures 0.0067 inches in diameter with a 0.984-inch overall length. The 118-degree faceted point and web-thinned, tapered web geometry promote accurate entry and reduce walking on hard surfaces. A TiN (titanium nitride) coating extends tool life by reducing friction and increasing surface hardness. The spiral flute design clears chips efficiently in deep or interrupted cuts. This bit is sold individually and must be ordered in multiples of 10.

This micro drill bit is engineered for tight-tolerance work in materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, hardened materials, nickel alloys, titanium alloys, and brass. It is well suited for precision machining, toolmaking, mold and die work, and any application requiring consistent, repeatable hole quality at sub-0.01-inch diameters. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard collet chucks and drill chucks designed for small-shank tooling. Right-hand cut geometry is standard for conventional CNC and manual spindle use.

Key Features

  • Wire gauge size 95 with 0.0067-inch diameter and diameter tolerance of +0.000 to -0.004 mm for tight fitment
  • TiN coating reduces friction and extends tool life across abrasive and hard workpiece materials
  • 118-degree faceted point with web-thinned, tapered web for clean entry and reduced thrust force
  • Spiral regular flute design promotes efficient chip evacuation in short, blind, and through holes
  • Straight-cylindrical shank with 1.00 mm shank diameter for broad chuck compatibility
  • Conforms to DIN 1899 specification for dimensional consistency and interchangeability

Compatibility

Designed as a Series 660 replacement or production micro drill bit for use in collet chucks and standard drill chucks accepting a 1.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Suitable for primary and secondary workpiece materials including brass, cast iron, hardened materials, nickel alloys, stainless steel, steel, and titanium alloys as specified by the manufacturer.

Installation Notes

Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized collet or drill chuck before spindle engagement. At sub-0.01-inch diameters, side loading and misalignment cause rapid breakage, so ensure the workpiece is rigidly fixtured and the spindle is true. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed rates appropriate to the workpiece material.
