The GUHRING 9006590134900 is a cobalt stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for demanding metal-cutting applications. Built to DIN 1897 standards, this heavy-duty bit features a 0.5313-inch (17/32) diameter, a 130-degree split point, and a parabolic flute geometry that promotes aggressive chip evacuation in deep-hole and high-feed drilling operations. The web-thinned, parallel-web construction reduces entry resistance and walking on hard materials. It is installed and operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with production drilling equipment.
This drill bit is engineered primarily for titanium alloy and other difficult-to-machine metals where cobalt-grade tooling is required. The stub-length body offers increased rigidity over jobber-length bits, making it well suited for drill press, CNC machining center, and screw machine setups where deflection control is critical. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks and collet holders without adapters. Maximum drilling depth is 1.33 inches (33.77 mm), consistent with its 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio.
Designed as an OEM-specification stub-length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a straight-cylindrical shank of 0.5313-inch diameter, consistent with DIN 1897 tooling standards.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with metal-cutting drill setups. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck or collet. Confirm proper chuck or collet grip on the full shank engagement length before initiating a cut. This bit does not support coolant-through delivery; use external cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material when drilling titanium alloy or similar hard metals.
