The GUHRING 9006590068000 is a stub-length (screw machine length) cobalt drill bit designed for demanding metal cutting applications. Built to DIN 1897 standards, it features a 6.80 mm (0.2677 inch) diameter with a 130-degree split point and a titanium nitride (TiN) tip coating. The M35 cobalt steel construction provides heat and wear resistance needed when drilling hard or abrasive workpiece materials. Web thinning reduces thrust force at the drill tip, and the tapered web configuration adds rigidity through the flute length. This bit is sized for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual machine tools operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This drill bit is rated for primary use in titanium alloy workpieces and is well suited for applications where a short, rigid drill body is preferred over jobber length. The stub flute design minimizes deflection in tight setups or when drilling from a solid. With a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio, a straight-cylindrical shank, and right-hand spiral flutes, it fits standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification. Series 659 is a production-grade line intended for shop floor use in aerospace, automotive, and precision metalworking environments.
Designed as a DIN 1897 stub-length drill bit with a straight-cylindrical shank; fits standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 6.80 mm shank diameter. Sized within the 0.2500 to 0.3000 inch (6.50 to 8.00 mm) drill bit range for use in machines tooled to that specification.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with machine tool safety procedures. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet and verify runout before beginning a cut. Power down the spindle and lock out the machine before changing or inspecting the bit. Follow the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for feed rate and spindle speed when drilling titanium alloy or other hard materials.
