The GUHRING 9006590025800 is a cobalt stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built to DIN 1897 standards, this heavy-duty bit features a parabolic flute geometry and a 130-degree split point with web thinning to reduce thrust and improve chip evacuation. The 0.1015-inch (wire size 38) diameter and straight-cylindrical shank suit precision drilling operations in production and maintenance environments. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals use this bit where standard HSS tooling falls short.
This bit is optimized for drilling titanium alloys and other difficult-to-machine materials where cobalt's elevated heat resistance is required. The parabolic flute profile promotes efficient chip removal in deep-hole applications, and the stub length provides added rigidity in short-reach setups such as screw machine and turret lathe operations. With a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 0.399 inches (10.13 mm), it is suited for through-holes and blind holes in tight tolerances.
Designed as a DIN 1897 stub-length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks, collets, and screw machine toolholders accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is titanium alloy; the cobalt grade also supports use in stainless steel, hardened steels, and other high-strength materials as conditions permit.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tool-and-die technicians familiar with proper speeds, feeds, and cutting fluid application for cobalt tooling. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before drilling. Do not exceed the recommended maximum drilling depth of 0.399 inches without retracting to clear chips. Always power down or lock out the machine before changing tooling.
