The GUHRING 9006580059500 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. Built to DIN 338 standards, this Series 658 bit features a titanium nitride (TiN) coating over a cobalt steel substrate, delivering improved surface hardness and heat resistance compared to standard HSS tooling. The 130-degree split point with web thinning reduces thrust requirements and improves centering on entry. The parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, making this bit well suited for deeper holes in a single pass. At 15/64 inch (0.2344 inch) diameter, it covers a common fastener and hole sizing range used in structural and mechanical fabrication.
This drill bit is intended for use in metalworking applications involving cast iron and steel workpieces, consistent with material codes K and P. It is a right-hand cut tool appropriate for standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held electric drills running at appropriate speeds for cobalt tooling. The overall length is 93 mm (approximately 3.66 inches), with a flute length of 57 mm (approximately 2.24 inches) and a shank length of 36 mm (approximately 1.42 inches). Maximum drilling depth is 48.08 mm (approximately 1.89 inches). The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard 3-jaw chucks without adapters. This bit is sold individually and is a standard catalog item for machine shops, maintenance technicians, and industrial fabricators.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel applications (material codes K and P) and compatible with standard drill presses, CNC spindles, and hand-held drills accepting a 15/64 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Conforms to DIN 338 jobber-length standards.
This bit should be installed and operated by machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with metalworking drill speeds and feeds for cobalt tooling. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing tooling. Do not use this bit on materials outside its rated workpiece codes, as improper application will reduce tool life and risk breakage.
