The GUHRING 9006530150000 is a screw machine length (stub) drill bit designed for fast-cycle drilling in production and maintenance environments. Built from M2 high speed steel with a coated finish, it features a 118-degree cone relief point and web-thinned tip geometry that reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation at the start of the cut. The two-flute spiral design runs a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio, keeping the tool rigid in short-reach applications. At 15.00 mm (0.5906 inches) in diameter with a straight-cylindrical shank to the same 15.00 mm dimension, this bit seats securely in standard Jacobs-style and keyless chucks alike. It is manufactured to DIN 1897 and carries an h8 diameter tolerance for consistent, repeatable hole sizing.
This drill bit is rated for use in cast iron and steel, making it a practical choice for fabrication shops, maintenance technicians, and machinists running repetitive hole patterns in ferrous materials. The stub-length body limits deflection in short-stroke setups such as drill presses, CNC machining centers, and radial arm drills. With a maximum drilling depth of 1.3190 inches (33.00 mm) and a Series 653 designation, it fits standard production drill programs that call for a heavy-duty, short-flute bit in the 0.5000 to 0.6000 inch diameter range.
Designed as an OEM-style screw machine length drill bit for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and radial arm drills where a stub-length, 15.00 mm diameter bit is specified per DIN 1897.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and locked out before changing bits. Seat the straight-cylindrical shank fully into the chuck and tighten uniformly to prevent runout. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool, so apply external cutting fluid appropriate for the workpiece material when drilling steel or cast iron at production feed rates.
