The GUHRING 9006530034500 is a stub-length (screw machine length) twist drill bit built for precision hole-making in ferrous materials. Manufactured from M2 high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this bit delivers extended cutting life compared to uncoated HSS tooling. It cuts a 0.136 inch diameter hole, carries a standard 118 degree point angle, and features a web-thinned, tapered web geometry that reduces thrust at entry. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3.45 mm in diameter and is sized for standard drill chucks and CNC toolholders. Machined to DIN 1897 specification, the bit is suited for shop environments where consistent dimensional tolerance is required.
This drill bit is intended for use on cast iron and steel workpieces in machining, fabrication, and maintenance applications. The stub length body — overall length of 2.0472 inches — provides increased rigidity over jobber-length drills, making it a preferred choice for short-reach operations on drill presses, CNC machining centers, and turret lathes. It is sold individually and is used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians running high-volume drilling cycles where tool runout and deflection must be minimized.
Designed as a DIN 1897 stub-length replacement drill bit for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks and CNC toolholding systems. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel as stated by the manufacturer.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians. Secure the shank fully into the chuck or collet and verify runout before drilling. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Cutting speeds and feed rates should be set per the workpiece material and machine capability; avoid excessive feed pressure, which can cause premature coating wear or tip fracture on coated HSS tooling.
