The GUHRING 9006520057000 is a jobber length twist drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in metalworking and fabrication environments. Built from high speed steel (HSS) with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction compared to uncoated HSS. The bit measures 5.7 mm (0.2244 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 93 mm and a parabolic flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation. The 130-degree split point reduces walking and allows drilling to start without a center punch in many setups. This bit is sized and manufactured to DIN 338 standards and is suited for machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance professionals.
This drill bit is rated as a high-performance grade tool, primarily intended for drilling aluminum and other non-ferrous and ferrous workpiece materials classified under material codes K, N, and P. The parabolic flute design with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper hole drilling with improved chip clearance. A maximum drilling depth of 48.45 mm (1.91 inches) makes it appropriate for through-hole and moderate blind-hole applications in production machining, job shop work, and maintenance repair operations. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without adapters.
Designed as a DIN 338 jobber length drill bit with a straight-cylindrical shank, this bit is compatible with standard keyless and keyed drill chucks, CNC machining centers, and drill presses that accept straight-shank tooling in the 0.2244-inch diameter range.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a standard drill chuck or collet system rated for the shank diameter. Verify that the chuck or toolholder is fully tightened before operation and that the workpiece is securely fixtured. For aluminum and non-ferrous materials, use appropriate cutting fluid or mist coolant to maximize tool life, even though this bit does not have through-coolant capability. Inspect the cutting edges for wear before each use and replace when the TiN coating shows significant wear or the point geometry is degraded.
