The GUHRING 9006520041000 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for precision hole-making in a shop or field environment. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction on the cutting edge. The bit measures 4.1 mm (0.1614 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 2-15/16 inches and a parabolic flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation. The 130-degree split point reduces walking and allows drilling to begin without a center punch on most materials. Web thinning at the tip further lowers thrust requirements and improves entry accuracy.
This drill bit is rated for use in aluminum and non-ferrous materials as its primary workpiece material, as well as select steel and plastic applications per the material code designations K, N, and P. It suits general-purpose production drilling, maintenance and repair operations, and fabrication work where consistent hole quality in the 4 mm to 5 mm range is required. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks without adapters, making it practical across benchtop drill presses, hand drills, and CNC machining centers.
Designed as a DIN 338 Series 652 jobber-length drill bit suitable for use in standard drill chucks accepting a 0.1614-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material designations K, N, and P cover aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and select plastics and steels.
Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a keyed or keyless drill chuck before operation and verify chuck runout is within acceptable tolerances for the application. Machinists and maintenance technicians should select appropriate spindle speed and feed rate for the workpiece material and bit diameter. No coolant-through capability is present on this bit, so apply cutting fluid externally when drilling deep holes or heat-sensitive materials. Inspect the cutting edges and TiN coating for wear before each use and replace the bit when the coating shows significant degradation at the tip.
