The GUHRING 9006520034500 is a wire gauge No. 29 jobber-length drill bit designed for production drilling in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other non-ferrous materials. Built from high speed steel (HSS) and coated with titanium nitride (TiN), this bit delivers extended tool life and reduced friction compared to uncoated HSS tooling. The parabolic flute geometry improves chip evacuation, making it well suited for deeper holes and interrupted cuts. At 0.1360 inch decimal diameter with a 130-degree split-point, it starts on center without a pilot hole and minimizes thrust force on entry. Overall length is 2.75 inches with a flute length of 1.5313 inches. Manufactured to DIN 338 standards, it meets the dimensional tolerances expected in precision trade and production applications.
This drill bit is intended for use in hand drills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers wherever a No. 29 wire gauge hole is required. Typical applications include pilot holes for self-tapping fasteners, clearance holes in ferrous and non-ferrous sheet stock, and general maintenance drilling in mechanical, HVAC, and electrical trade work. The straight cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks across a broad range of machines. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and web-thinned tip make it particularly effective in steel and cast iron where chip packing is a concern.
Designed as a DIN 338-compliant jobber drill for use in standard drill chucks accepting a 0.1358 inch straight cylindrical shank. Suitable for drilling steel, cast iron, aluminum, and non-ferrous workpiece materials as designated by material codes K, N, and P.
Install in a properly sized drill chuck and tighten securely before use. Always power down or de-energize the drilling machine before changing bits. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling steel or cast iron to maintain edge life and manage heat buildup. Inspect the cutting edges and TiN coating for wear before each use and replace the bit if chipping or coating loss is observed.
