The GUHRING 9006520013200 is a jobber length drill bit in wire gauge size 55, equivalent to 0.0520 inches in diameter. Made from high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life and reduced friction during drilling. The bit features a 130-degree drill point angle, a parabolic flute design, and a straight-cylindrical shank. Overall length is 1.5 inches, with a flute length of 0.625 inches. Right-hand cutting geometry and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduce entry force and improve chip evacuation. This is a Series 652 tool built to DIN 338 standards, suited for high-performance applications in production and maintenance environments.
This drill bit is optimized for use on aluminum and non-ferrous materials, as indicated by its K, N, and P workpiece material classifications. The parabolic flute profile at a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio is especially effective in softer metals where chip packing is a common problem. It is appropriate for use in hand drills, drill presses, and CNC machining centers where wire-gauge tooling is required. The maximum drilling depth is 0.552 inches (14.02 mm). Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and production floor operators working with small-diameter holes in aluminum or plastic components will find this bit well suited to their work.
Designed for use with standard drill chucks accepting straight-cylindrical shanks in the 0.0520-inch diameter range. Primary workpiece materials are aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and plastics (material codes K, N, P). Suitable for any machine tool or hand tool capable of accepting wire-gauge drill bits.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with small-diameter tooling. Ensure the drill chuck is fully tightened and the workpiece is securely fixtured before beginning any drilling operation. Running speeds should be selected per the material being drilled and the machine manufacturer recommendations for 0.0520-inch HSS tooling. Inspect the cutting edge before each use, as TiN-coated small-diameter bits are susceptible to chipping if dropped or improperly stored.
