The GUHRING 9006520010400 is a jobber length drill bit engineered for precision drilling in production and maintenance applications. Built from high-speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, this bit offers increased surface hardness and extended wear life compared to uncoated HSS tooling. It carries a wire gauge size of 59, equivalent to 0.0409 inches in decimal, and features a 130-degree split point angle for reduced thrust and accurate self-centering on entry. The parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, making it well suited for drilling aluminum and other non-ferrous materials. Overall length is 34 millimeters with a flute length of 15/32 inches. This bit is sold individually and is part of the Guhring Series 652 line.
This drill bit is designed for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools where tight tolerances and clean hole geometry are required. The primary target workpiece materials are aluminum and similar non-ferrous or plastic materials, consistent with ISO material group codes K, N, and P. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard drill chucks without adapters. It is appropriate for both job shop use and light production runs where consistent hole quality is critical. Installation and use are handled by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, or maintenance mechanics.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber length drill bit conforming to DIN 338, compatible with standard drill chucks accepting a 0.0409-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Optimized for workpiece material groups K, N, and P per ISO classification.
Install and tighten the shank fully and evenly in the drill chuck before operation. Ensure the drilling machine spindle is at a full stop before inserting or removing the bit. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling aluminum to prevent built-up edge on the cutting lips. Inspect the TiN coating and cutting edges for wear before each use; a chipped or worn point should be replaced rather than reground to preserve the web-thinned geometry.
