The GUHRING 9006510031700 is a jobber-length twist drill bit designed for general-purpose hole-making in steel and cast iron. Built from M2 high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers extended tool life compared to uncoated HSS bits. The drill measures 1/8 inch (0.1250 inches) in diameter, with an overall length of 2.56 inches and a flute length of 1.42 inches. A 118-degree standard point angle and web-thinned, tapered web geometry reduce entry force and improve chip evacuation. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly into standard drill chucks. This bit is installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, HVAC installers, plumbers, and electricians for pilot holes and through-holes in ferrous materials.
This drill bit is suited for drilling cast iron and steel in light industrial, commercial, and field service applications. The Series 651 design conforms to DIN 338, the international standard for jobber-length twist drills. With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral, it handles a range of production and maintenance drilling tasks on ferrous workpieces. The 1/8 inch diameter makes it a common choice for pilot holes, sheet metal, and small-diameter through-hole work across trades. It is sold and packaged individually.
Designed as a DIN 338-compliant jobber-length drill bit for use with standard drill chucks accepting a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron.
Install this bit into a drill press, hand drill, or power screwdriver with a compatible 1/8 inch chuck before powering the tool. Ensure the shank is fully seated and the chuck is tightened before operation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubrication when drilling steel to reduce heat buildup and prolong tool life. Follow applicable shop safety practices and wear eye protection when drilling.
