The GUHRING 9006510025500 is a jobber length twist drill bit designed for general-purpose hole-making in metalworking applications. Built from M2 high speed steel with a titanium nitride (TiN) coating, it delivers improved wear resistance and longer tool life compared to uncoated HSS bits. The bit measures 2.55 mm in diameter with an overall length of 57 mm (2.2441 inches) and a flute length of 30 mm (1.1811 inches). The 118-degree standard point angle and web-thinned, tapered web geometry reduce entry force and improve chip clearance. Manufactured to DIN 338 standards, this bit is suited for use by machinists, maintenance technicians, and metalworking tradespeople.
This drill bit is intended for drilling into cast iron and steel workpieces in both production and maintenance settings. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard drill chucks on bench drill presses, hand drills, and CNC machining centers. With a flute-to-diameter ratio of 5xD and a regular spiral flute configuration, it is appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole drilling in ferrous metals at moderate cutting speeds. It is sold individually and is well suited for tool crib stocking where metric drill sizes are required.
Designed as a general-purpose replacement or stocking drill bit for applications requiring a 2.55 mm metric jobber length bit conforming to DIN 338. Compatible with any standard drill chuck that accepts a 2.55 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by a qualified machinist or trained technician familiar with drill press or machine tool operation. Ensure the workpiece is securely clamped and the machine spindle is at a full stop before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck. Use appropriate cutting fluid or lubricant when drilling steel to reduce heat buildup and prolong tool life. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use and replace the bit if damage is observed.
