The GUHRING 9006220081000 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for demanding drilling applications in metalworking and fabrication environments. Built to DIN 338 standards, this Series 622 bit features a 130-degree split point and a parabolic flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced heat buildup during drilling. The bright uncoated finish suits applications where coating compatibility is a concern. At 8.1 mm in diameter (0.3189 decimal inch) with a 4-19/32 inch overall length, this drill is sized for general-purpose jobber use. It is installed by machinists, tool and die technicians, and maintenance professionals working with drill presses, CNC equipment, and hand-held power drills.
This drill bit is rated for primary use in aluminum, as well as a range of non-ferrous and general steel workpiece materials (material codes K, N, P). The parabolic flute design with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper drilling cycles with improved chip clearance. The straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 0.3189 inches fits standard drill chucks and collet holders. It is manufactured to DIN 338 specification and carries a High Performance grade designation from GUHRING, reflecting tighter tolerances and cobalt alloy substrate for elevated heat resistance.
Designed for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and portable power drills accepting a 0.3189-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Suited for drilling aluminum and general metalworking materials per primary workpiece material codes K, N, and P as specified by GUHRING for Series 622.
Install in a properly rated drill chuck or collet holder, ensuring the shank is fully seated and secured before operation. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for the workpiece material and bit diameter before beginning the drilling cycle. Cobalt drill bits should not be used dry on hardened steel without appropriate cutting fluid, as excessive heat will degrade the cutting edge. Inspect the drill point and flutes for wear or chipping before each use.
