The GUHRING 9006220049000 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in non-ferrous and mixed-material applications. Built to DIN 338 standards, this Series 622 bit features a 130-degree drill point angle and a parabolic flute geometry that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup during cutting. The bright, uncoated cobalt construction provides inherent heat resistance without the added friction of a coating. At 3.375 inches overall length with a 2.0625-inch flute length, it is sized for standard jobber-length reach in most drill press and hand-drill setups. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.1929 inches in diameter, matching the 4.9 mm cutting diameter for consistent chuck grip.
This drill bit is suited for drilling aluminum, plastics, and similar non-ferrous and mixed-material workpieces in light manufacturing, fabrication, and maintenance applications. The parabolic flute design is particularly effective in gummy materials like aluminum where chip packing and heat are common failure points. A web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust requirements at the start of the cut. Right-hand cutting direction is standard for conventional drill press and CNC operations. Sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber length drill bit conforming to DIN 338 specifications, suitable for use with standard three-jaw chucks and CNC drill holders accepting straight-cylindrical shanks in the 0.1929-inch diameter range.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance professionals familiar with drilling operations and applicable shop safety standards. Ensure the drill press or power tool is powered down and secured before changing bits. Verify chuck capacity matches the 0.1929-inch shank diameter before tightening. When drilling aluminum or non-ferrous materials, use appropriate cutting fluid to prolong bit life and improve surface finish.
