The GUHRING 9006220042500 is a jobber length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in a range of workpiece materials. Built from cobalt high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit delivers solid heat resistance and edge retention in demanding applications. The 4.25 mm diameter (0.1673 inch) bit features a 130-degree split point, a parabolic flute design for efficient chip evacuation, and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces thrust requirements at entry. Overall length is 2.9531 inches (75.01 mm), with a flute length of 1.6875 inches (43.00 mm). Right-hand cut with a straight-cylindrical shank. Designed for professional use by machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, and maintenance technicians.
This drill bit is primarily intended for drilling aluminum and non-ferrous metals, as well as plastics and certain steels, consistent with workpiece material codes K, N, and P. Its 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and parabolic flute geometry make it well suited for production environments where chip packing and heat buildup are common concerns. The Series 622 designation follows DIN 338 specification standards, making it a compatible replacement in setups that call for metric jobber length drills to that standard. Maximum drilling depth is 1.4420 inches (36.63 mm).
Designed as an OEM-style jobber length drill bit conforming to DIN 338 standards, suitable for use in standard drill chucks and CNC machining centers that accept 0.1673-inch straight-cylindrical shank tooling in the 0.1500 to 0.2000 inch diameter range.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or trade professionals familiar with cutting tool setup and safe machine operation. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before drilling. Always power down and de-energize the machine before changing tooling. Follow applicable shop safety standards and manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed rates appropriate to the workpiece material.
