The GUHRING 9006180087300 is a Series 618 extra length cobalt drill bit designed for deep hole drilling applications. With a 0.3438 inch diameter and an overall length of 9.843 inches, this bit reaches depths that standard-length drills cannot. The parabolic flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation, reducing heat buildup and the risk of chip packing in deep bores. A web-thinned, tapered web reduces thrust at entry and improves penetration in harder workpiece materials. The uncoated cobalt construction provides heat resistance inherent to the alloy itself, making it suitable for dry or light-coolant drilling operations. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers of this type of cutting tool.
This drill bit is engineered for deep hole drilling in aluminum, titanium alloy, and steel. The 15xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports extended reach bores in applications where through-coolant tooling is not required. A straight cylindrical shank with an 11/32 inch shank diameter fits standard drill chucks and collet holders used in machining centers, drill presses, and CNC setups. Maximum drilling depth is 6.374 inches. The right-hand cutting direction suits conventional CNC and manual spindle rotation. The bit meets DIN 1869 specification and complies with California Proposition 65 requirements.
Designed as an OEM-grade replacement or direct-use extra length drill bit for machining operations in aluminum, titanium alloy, and steel workpieces per workpiece material codes K, M, N, P, and S, with secondary compatibility for steel code H.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with cutting tool setup and speeds-and-feeds selection for cobalt tooling. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before beginning a cut. Inspect the drill point and flutes for wear or chipping before each use, as a damaged cutting edge can cause workpiece damage or tool breakage. Always power down and lock out the spindle before changing or inspecting tooling.
