The GUHRING 9006180058000 is a cobalt, uncoated extra length twist drill bit engineered for deep hole drilling in demanding industrial and fabrication applications. It carries a 0.2283 inch diameter with an 8.071 inch overall length and a 5.512 inch parabolic flute length, giving it a 15xD flute-to-diameter ratio suited for extended reach work. The 130-degree split point with web thinning reduces entry force and walking on hard materials. A straight-cylindrical shank at 0.2283 inch diameter seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders. This bit is manufactured to DIN 1869 specification and is rated for high-performance cutting service.
This Series 618 drill bit is designed for deep hole applications in aluminum, titanium alloy, and steel workpieces. The parabolic flute geometry improves chip evacuation in deep bores, reducing the need for peck drilling cycles. It is well suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual operations in job shop, aerospace, and general metalworking environments where a standard-length drill cannot reach. The right-hand cutting direction and tapered web configuration support consistent, repeatable hole quality in both production and low-volume runs.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or direct-use drill bit for deep hole drilling operations in aluminum, titanium alloy, and steel workpieces per DIN 1869 Series 618 standards. Compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.2283 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and operation of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with metalcutting practices. Ensure the machine spindle and chuck or collet are fully secured and within rated runout tolerance before operation. Verify the workpiece is properly fixtured and coolant or lubrication strategy is appropriate for the workpiece material, particularly when drilling titanium alloys or hardened steel. Comply with applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines during tool changes.
