The GUHRING 9006180050000 is a Series 618 extra length cobalt drill bit engineered for deep hole drilling applications in demanding production and maintenance environments. With a 0.1969-inch diameter, a 5.315-inch parabolic flute length, and a 7.677-inch overall length, this bit reaches depths that standard-length drills cannot access. The 130-degree split point and web-thinned tip reduce thrust and improve centering on entry. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks or collet holders. Uncoated cobalt construction delivers heat resistance and edge retention when cutting through tough materials without the need for specialty coatings. This bit is intended for use by machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians running drill presses, lathes, or CNC machining centers.
This drill bit is rated for deep hole drilling up to 5.020 inches (127.50 mm) at a flute-to-diameter ratio of 15xD. Primary workpiece materials include aluminum and titanium alloy, with secondary suitability for steel. It is appropriate for both production runs and precision repair work where extended reach and accurate hole geometry are required. The parabolic flute profile promotes efficient chip evacuation in deep-hole applications, reducing the need for peck-drilling cycles and helping maintain hole straightness over the full depth of cut.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or direct-use drill bit conforming to DIN 1869 standards, suitable for use in standard drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.1969-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are aluminum and titanium alloy; secondary workpiece material is steel.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with cutting tool setup and speeds-and-feeds selection for cobalt tooling. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a properly sized chuck or collet before operation, and verify runout before beginning a cut. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material, noting that this bit does not support coolant-through delivery. Inspect the cutting edges and web for wear or chipping before each use and replace the bit if edge integrity is compromised.
