The GUHRING 9006090066000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision hole-making in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to DIN 6539 standards, this bit features a titanium nitride (TiN) coating over a submicron carbide substrate, which extends tool life and reduces built-up edge in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The three-flute spiral configuration with a web-thinned, tapered web and 150-degree drill point angle promotes self-centering entry and efficient chip evacuation. Overall length is 2.756 inches with a flute length of 1.654 inches. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers and users.
This bit is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-spindle setups where consistent hole diameter and entry accuracy are critical. The straight-cylindrical shank accommodates standard drill chucks and collet holders without modification. With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 1.26 inches (32.10 mm), it fits medium-depth through-hole and blind-hole operations. The Series 609 designation places it within a family of jobber-length carbide drills intended for tight-tolerance work across a range of production environments.
Designed as an OEM-specification jobber-length carbide drill bit conforming to DIN 6539, compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 0.2598-inch shank diameter in CNC and manual machine tool setups.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a precision drill chuck or collet holder, verifying runout before operation, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral deflection. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing or inspecting the bit. Do not use this bit in hammer or impact-mode drilling applications, as carbide tooling requires steady, controlled feed rates to prevent fracture.
