The GUHRING 9006090031000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for precision drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to DIN 6539 standards, this 3.1 mm (0.1220 inch) diameter bit features a titanium nitride (TiN) coating that extends tool life and reduces friction during cutting. The three-flute spiral configuration with a 150-degree point angle and web-thinned, tapered web geometry supports self-centering entry and efficient chip evacuation. With an overall length of 1.929 inches and a straight-cylindrical shank, it mounts directly into standard drill chucks and collets used in CNC machining centers and precision drill presses.
This drill bit is suited for machining operations that require tight dimensional control in materials where carbide tooling is the appropriate grade selection. The submicron carbide material grade makes it a strong choice for hardened steels, cast iron, aluminum alloys, and other abrasive workpiece materials. It fits applications in production machining, tool and die, aerospace component drilling, and precision fabrication shops where hole quality and positional accuracy are critical. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 0.760 inches (19.35 mm) define the operational envelope for typical through-hole and blind-hole work at this diameter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production tooling option for applications requiring DIN 6539 jobber-length carbide drill bits in the 3.00 mm to 4.00 mm diameter range (0.1000 to 0.1500 inch).
Installation and use should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Before mounting, ensure the spindle, collet, or drill chuck is clean and free of debris to maintain runout specifications. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank to the full recommended grip depth of the collet or chuck to prevent pullout under cutting load. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when setting spindle speed, feed rate, and coolant delivery for carbide tooling at this diameter.
