The GUHRING 9005520025000 is a stub-length (screw machine length) high speed steel twist drill bit designed for precision drilling in production and machining environments. Built to DIN 1897 standards, this Series 552 bit features a parabolic flute geometry and a 130-degree split point angle to reduce walking and improve chip evacuation. The web-thinned, parallel-web design lowers thrust force at entry. At 0.0984 inches (2.50 mm) in diameter, it delivers accurate, repeatable holes in tight-tolerance work. It is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and skilled maintenance trades working with precision drilling equipment.
This drill bit is rated for aluminum as its primary workpiece material, though its high-performance HSS construction and parabolic flute design also suit other non-ferrous and soft ferrous materials in light-duty applications. The stub-length body — 1.693 inches overall with a 0.551-inch flute length — provides added rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, making it well suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine setups where reduced deflection and improved hole straightness are required. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks without modification.
Designed as a DIN 1897 Series 552 stub-length drill bit with a straight-cylindrical shank; fits standard drill chucks on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machines accepting a 2.50 mm (0.0984 inch) shank diameter.
This bit is installed by machinists or maintenance technicians into a standard drill chuck or collet system. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the chuck is properly tightened before operation. Secure the workpiece firmly to prevent movement during drilling. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for speed and feed settings appropriate to the workpiece material.
