The GUHRING 9005520011900 is a stub-length screw machine drill bit designed for high-throughput drilling in production and machining environments. Built from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this Series 552 bit measures 0.0469 inches (3/64 inch) in diameter with an overall length of 1.1875 inches. The 130-degree point angle and parabolic flute geometry support fast chip evacuation and reduced thrust in softer materials. A web-thinned, parallel web configuration lowers entry resistance and improves hole accuracy. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and production shop operators typically use this bit with screw machines, drill presses, and CNC machining centers.
This drill bit is optimized for use in aluminum and similarly machinable non-ferrous or soft materials. The stub-length (screw machine) body provides greater rigidity than jobber-length bits, reducing deflection in short-hole applications. With a maximum drilling depth of 0.245 inches and a flute-to-diameter ratio of 3xD, it suits shallow, precise bores common in high-volume production runs. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collet holders without additional tooling adapters.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use bit for screw machines, drill presses, and CNC machining centers requiring a 3/64 inch straight-shank stub-length drill. Primary workpiece material is aluminum; the geometry is also suitable for other machinable soft metals and plastics where parabolic flute clearance is beneficial.
This bit is installed and changed by machinists or tool-room technicians following standard lockout/tagout procedures before any chuck or collet work. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the chuck is tightened to the tool manufacturer's specified clamping range before operation. Do not exceed the maximum drilling depth of 0.245 inches per plunge without retracting to clear chips. Use of cutting fluid or coolant is not required but may extend tool life in sustained production use.
