The GUHRING 9005490057500 is a jobber length drill bit designed for precision drilling in aluminum and similar non-ferrous and soft materials. Built from high-performance high speed steel with a bright uncoated finish, this bit features a parabolic flute geometry that promotes fast chip evacuation and reduced cutting resistance. The 130-degree drill point angle suits the softer material classifications this bit targets. At 5.75 mm in diameter (0.2264 inches) with an overall length of 93 mm (3.661 inches), it fits standard drill chucks and is sized for general-purpose production and maintenance drilling. The web-thinned, tapered web design reduces thrust at entry and helps maintain hole accuracy. Installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, and fabricators in shop and field environments.
This bit is suited for drilling aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and soft workpiece materials in both production and maintenance contexts. The parabolic flute profile with a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio allows deeper cuts with improved chip flow relative to standard flute geometries. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard three-jaw drill chucks across a wide range of drill presses, CNC machines, and hand-held power tools. The bit conforms to DIN 338 specifications, making it a direct fit in workflows that specify metric tooling to that standard. It is sold individually as a single-piece unit.
Designed as a DIN 338-compliant jobber length drill bit suitable for use in standard drill chucks accepting straight-cylindrical shanks in the 5.00 mm to 6.00 mm diameter range. Primary workpiece material classifications are aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and soft machinable materials (material codes K, N, P).
Install and remove drill bits only after the spindle has come to a complete stop and power has been isolated from the machine. Ensure the chuck is properly tightened using a chuck key before operation. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use, as a dull bit can cause work hardening, deflection, or overheating. This bit does not support coolant-through delivery; apply cutting fluid externally when drilling at higher feeds or depths to extend tool life.
