The GUHRING 9005490052500 is a jobber length drill bit designed for precise, efficient drilling in aluminum and similar non-ferrous materials. Manufactured from high speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit features a parabolic flute geometry that promotes fast chip evacuation and reduces heat buildup during drilling. The 130-degree split point angle improves self-centering and reduces walking on entry. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 0.2067 inches in diameter and is compatible with standard drill chucks. At 86 mm (3-25/64 inches) overall length, this is a standard jobber format suitable for everyday production and maintenance drilling tasks performed by machinists and maintenance technicians.
This drill bit is optimized for drilling aluminum, plastics, and softer steels. The parabolic flute with web-thinning supports deeper cuts relative to diameter, rated to a maximum drilling depth of 44.13 mm (1.737 inches). With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a tapered web configuration, it maintains rigidity without sacrificing chip clearance. It is well suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and handheld power drills where consistent hole quality and diameter tolerance are required. The 2-flute design keeps cutting forces manageable in softer workpiece materials.
Designed as a DIN 338 standard jobber length drill bit compatible with workpiece material codes K, N, and P, covering aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and plastics. Fits any standard drill chuck accepting a 0.2067-inch straight shank.
Installation is performed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a standard keyed or keyless drill chuck. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and confirm runout is within acceptable limits for the application. Apply appropriate cutting fluid for aluminum to extend tool life and maintain hole quality. Inspect the drill point for wear or chipping before each use and replace the bit if the cutting edge shows visible damage.
