The GUHRING 9005300048500 is a jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in ferrous materials including cast iron and steel. It is manufactured from powdered metal and carries a FIREX coating that extends tool life under demanding cutting conditions. The bit measures 3.39 inches overall, features a 130-degree cone relief point, and uses a parabolic flute geometry with a fast spiral to improve chip evacuation. The straight-cylindrical shank and web-thinned point make it suitable for production environments where hole quality and cycle time matter. Licensed trades and machining professionals install and use this bit in standard drill chucks on floor-standing or hand-held equipment.
This bit is sized at wire gauge number 11, equivalent to 0.1909 inches in decimal, and conforms to DIN 338. It is built for primary workpiece materials classified as cast iron and steel, covering material codes K and P. The parabolic flute with a 5xD flute-by-diameter ratio handles chip removal efficiently in blind and through-hole applications across light manufacturing, maintenance, and fabrication settings. The two-flute, right-hand cut configuration is compatible with conventional CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand drills running at speeds appropriate for the workpiece material.
Designed as an OEM-specification Series 530 jobber length drill bit per DIN 338, suited for use in cast iron and steel workpieces in standard drill chucks accepting a 4.85 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and use should be performed by machinists or qualified trades familiar with cutting tool selection and machine setup. Secure the shank fully in a properly rated drill chuck and verify chuck runout before cutting. Select spindle speed and feed rate based on the workpiece material and consult the manufacturer cutting data for powdered metal tooling. Do not exceed the maximum recommended drilling depth of 1.76 inches without pecking or clearing chips to prevent flute loading.
