The GUHRING 9005300031700 is a jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding trade and industrial applications. Built from PM-ASP-60 powdered metal, it delivers the hardness and edge retention needed for cutting cast iron and steel without frequent resharpening. The bit features a 130-degree point angle with cone relief geometry and a parabolic flute design that promotes faster chip evacuation and reduced heat buildup. A FIREX coating adds surface hardness and lubricity, extending tool life in production and service environments. At 2-9/16 inches overall length with a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank, it fits standard drill chucks and driver tools used by HVAC techs, pipefitters, and maintenance electricians.
This drill bit is suited for production drilling and field service work where consistent hole quality in ferrous materials is required. The parabolic flute geometry and web-thinned point reduce thrust force, making it practical for hand-held drilling as well as drill press use. It conforms to DIN 338 standards, making it compatible with metric and imperial tooling setups common in commercial and industrial maintenance workflows. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling to a maximum depth of 1.230 inches without coolant through the body.
Rated for primary workpiece materials cast iron and steel (material codes K and P). Designed for use in standard drill chucks accepting a 1/8 inch straight-cylindrical shank. Fits applications governed by DIN 338 tooling specifications.
This bit is installed and operated by qualified machinists, HVAC technicians, electricians, and pipefitters using standard drill equipment. Always secure the workpiece before drilling and operate at feed rates and spindle speeds appropriate for the material and bit diameter. Inspect the cutting edge before each use and remove the bit from service if chipping or coating wear is observed. No coolant-through capability is present on this bit, so apply cutting fluid externally when drilling deep holes in hard ferrous stock.
