The GUHRING 9005150013200 is a stub-length (screw machine length) drill bit designed for high-throughput drilling in steel and cast iron. Built from powdered metal and coated with a multi-layer nano-FIREX finish, this bit holds up under the heat and friction generated in production and job-shop environments. It runs a 130-degree cone-relief point, which reduces thrust and improves centering on harder ferrous materials. The parabolic flute geometry promotes fast chip evacuation, keeping the cut clean without requiring coolant-through capability. Overall length is 1.1811 inches (30.00 mm), with a flute length of 0.3150 inches (8.00 mm). This is a right-hand cutting tool suited for use in CNC equipment, drill presses, and screw machines.
This drill bit is sized to wire gauge No. 55, with a decimal inch diameter of 0.0520 inches and a shank diameter of 1.32 mm (0.0520 inches decimal). It is built to DIN 1897 standards for stub-length drills and carries a Series 515 designation from GUHRING. The stub length format makes it well-suited for rigid setups where minimal deflection is needed and where workpiece access is limited. Primary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron. Maximum drilling depth is 0.2370 inches (6.02 mm). The straight cylindrical shank fits standard chucks and collets without modification. Installation is typically handled by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and CNC operators in manufacturing and fabrication settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use drill bit for applications requiring a wire gauge No. 55, stub-length drill conforming to DIN 1897 specifications. Compatible with any standard chuck or collet accepting a 0.0520-inch straight shank.
This tool is installed and operated by machinists, CNC operators, and tool-and-die technicians. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within tolerance for the application. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Follow shop-standard feeds and speeds for powdered metal tooling in the relevant workpiece material.
