The GUHRING 9005020098000 is an extra length, high speed steel (HSS) drill bit engineered for deep hole drilling applications. Built to DIN 1869 standards, it features a parabolic flute geometry and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced thrust in deeper cuts. The drill carries a 130-degree point angle with a standard point type, a straight-cylindrical shank, and an uncoated finish. At 0.3858 inches in diameter with an overall length of 10.4375 inches and a flute length of 7.283 inches, this tool is sized for applications where standard-length drills cannot reach. It is a right-hand cutting, two-flute design suited to high-performance production work.
This drill bit is intended for deep hole drilling in materials including aluminum and non-ferrous metals, as well as a range of steel workpiece materials consistent with its K, N, and P material group designations. The parabolic flute profile helps clear chips effectively over extended drilling depths, making it appropriate for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and production environments where consistent hole quality at depth is required. The 15xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling depths up to 6.705 inches (170.30 mm). Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working with deep-hole operations will find this geometry well matched to the task.
Designed as an OEM-specification extra length drill bit per DIN 1869, suited for use in standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet systems that accept a 0.3858-inch shank diameter. Primary workpiece material designation covers aluminum and steel material groups K, N, and P.
This drill bit is installed and serviced by machinists and toolroom professionals. Secure the shank fully in a compatible drill chuck or collet before operation, and confirm runout is within acceptable tolerance before beginning a cut. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds appropriate to the workpiece material and drilling depth.
