The GUHRING 9005020066000 is an extra length high speed steel drill bit engineered for deep hole drilling in demanding production environments. Built to DIN 1869 standards, it features a 0.2598-inch diameter, a 130-degree split point, and a parabolic flute design that promotes aggressive chip evacuation and reduced cutting resistance. The flute length measures 5.906 inches with a flute-to-diameter ratio of 15xD, allowing it to reach a maximum drilling depth of 5.516 inches. The straight-cylindrical shank is sized at 0.2598 inches for direct chuck mounting. This bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die makers, and maintenance technicians requiring consistent hole quality at extended depths.
This drill bit is optimized for aluminum and non-ferrous materials, making it well suited for aerospace, automotive, and general manufacturing applications where deep, clean holes are required without pilot drilling. The web-thinned, tapered web geometry reduces thrust force at the cutting tip, which is especially valuable when drilling long-reach bores in aluminum plate, extrusions, and castings. Its right-hand cutting direction is compatible with standard CNC machining centers and manual drill presses. Series 502 is GUHRING's dedicated extra length parabolic flute line built to DIN 1869 specification.
Designed as a DIN 1869 Series 502 extra length parabolic flute drill bit with primary compatibility for aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials, as specified by material codes K, N, and P.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with cutting tool setup. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet and confirm runout is within acceptable limits before drilling. Power down the spindle and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 5.516 inches, and use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant flow externally since this tool does not support through-coolant.
