The GUHRING 9005020055000 is an extra length, two-flute twist drill bit designed for deep hole drilling in metalworking applications. Built from high-speed steel with a nitride finish and web-thinned construction, it delivers consistent chip evacuation and reduced thrust in demanding production environments. The parabolic flute geometry, combined with a tapered web configuration, supports efficient swarf removal at extended depths. With a 130-degree point angle, a flute length of 140 mm, and an overall length of 205 mm, this bit handles deep-reach operations that standard-length drills cannot reach. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die makers, and precision drilling technicians are the primary users.
This drill bit is suited for deep hole drilling operations where a 15xD flute-to-diameter ratio is required. Its primary target workpiece materials are aluminum and similar non-ferrous and low-alloy materials, consistent with the K, N, and P material codes in the DIN classification system. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual lathes. The 65 mm shank length provides adequate grip for secure tool holding in high-performance setups.
Designed as a DIN 1869-compliant extra length drill bit for use in standard straight-cylindrical chuck and collet systems on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and lathes where 5.5 mm diameter deep hole drilling is required.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and all energy sources locked out per applicable machine guarding standards. Confirm chuck or collet diameter matches the 5.5 mm straight-cylindrical shank before securing. Do not exceed the rated maximum drilling depth of 131.75 mm. Adequate cutting fluid or lubrication is recommended for extended tool life, particularly when drilling aluminum or non-ferrous alloys.
