The GUHRING 9005010067500 is a taper length twist drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metalworking applications. Built from high speed steel with a bright/uncoated finish, it features a parabolic flute geometry and a web-thinned, parallel web configuration that promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduced thrust. The 130-degree split point provides aggressive material entry without center-punching in most setups. The cylindrical shank measures 17/64 inch in diameter, matching the drill diameter for straightforward chuck compatibility. This bit suits production and maintenance drilling operations performed by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and general metal fabricators.
This drill bit is rated for use in aluminum alloy and steel. The taper length body — with a flute length of approximately 4.03 inches and an overall length of 6.125 inches — provides extended reach beyond standard jobber-length bits while maintaining rigidity. The 10xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports deeper hole applications up to a maximum drilling depth of 3.617 inches (91.88 mm). It is well suited to CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual milling setups where a longer reach is required but a full aircraft-length bit is unnecessary. Series 501 is GUHRING's general-purpose high-performance drill line conforming to DIN 340.

Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with drill press, milling machine, or CNC spindle setup. Do not exceed the recommended feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material, and ensure adequate chip clearance when drilling to the maximum depth of 3.617 inches. Cutting fluid or coolant is recommended for steel applications even though this bit does not have through-coolant capability.
