The GUHRING 9003360100000 is a taper length cobalt drill bit designed for demanding hole-making operations in tough ferrous and abrasion-resistant materials. Built to DIN 340 specification, it features a parabolic flute geometry and a web-thinned, parallel-web construction that improves chip evacuation and reduces thrust during drilling. The 130-degree split point enters material cleanly without walking. The bright, uncoated cobalt construction provides inherent heat resistance suited for dry or minimal-lubrication drilling in hard workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die tradespeople typically select this bit for production and maintenance drilling where standard HSS tooling falls short.
This drill bit is applied in metal fabrication, maintenance repair, and production machining environments where the workpiece material demands a cobalt-grade tool. Typical applications include drilling into cast iron, hardened materials, stainless steel, and carbon steel. The straight shank seats directly in standard drill chucks and driver collets without adapters, making it compatible with drill presses, milling machines, and hand-held magnetic drills. The taper length body provides additional reach compared to a jobber-length bit while maintaining rigidity.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use taper length drill bit for standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet systems used in production and maintenance machining of ferrous and hardened materials.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the straight shank fully in the chuck and verify runout before drilling. Power down and de-energize the machine before changing tooling. Do not exceed the rated speed range for the workpiece material and bit diameter, and apply appropriate cutting fluid when drilling stainless steel or hardened materials to extend tool life.
