The GUHRING 9003360047600 is a cobalt taper length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built to DIN 340 standards, it features a 0.1875 inch (3/16 inch) diameter with a 130-degree split point for accurate starts and reduced walking. The parabolic flute geometry improves chip evacuation and allows for deeper cuts with less heat buildup. With an overall length of 5-3/16 inches and a flute length of 3-7/16 inches, this bit handles drilling depths up to 3.144 inches. It carries a cylindrical shank with no threading and is suited for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual setups by machinists and metalworking trades.
This drill bit is engineered for use in cast iron, hardened materials, stainless steel, and steel. The cobalt construction provides heat resistance that allows it to maintain cutting geometry when drilling tough alloys that would degrade standard HSS tooling. The 10xD flute-to-diameter ratio makes it well suited for taper length applications where extended reach is needed without sacrificing rigidity. It is commonly used in production machining, tool and die work, and heavy fabrication environments where consistent hole quality and tool life are priorities.
Designed as an OEM-grade taper length drill bit for use in standard 3/16 inch cylindrical shank tool holders, drill chucks, and keyless chucks compatible with Series 336 tooling. Suitable for cast iron, hardened materials, stainless steel, and steel per manufacturer material application data.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or metalworking professionals. Secure the cylindrical shank firmly in a matched drill chuck to the full recommended engagement depth before operation. Ensure the workpiece is clamped and the spindle speed and feed rate are set appropriately for cobalt tooling in the target material. Inspect the cutting edges for wear before each use and replace the bit if chipping or rounding is visible.
