The GUHRING 9003290018200 is a cobalt stub-length screw machine drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding materials. Built to DIN 1897 standards from M35 cobalt steel, this bit delivers the heat resistance and edge retention required when working titanium alloys and other tough workpiece materials. The 130-degree split-point cone relief tip reduces thrust and improves centering without a pilot hole. At 0.0717 inches (1.82 mm) diameter and an overall length of approximately 1.417 inches (36 mm), it is sized for precision work in tight clearances. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and electrical technicians, as well as machinists and fabricators, reach for this bit when tolerances are tight and tool life matters.
This drill bit is well suited for production and maintenance drilling in metalworking applications where stub length provides added rigidity and reduced deflection. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and web-thinned geometry support efficient chip evacuation in short, controlled drilling depths up to 0.326 inches (8.27 mm). Its straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks and collets without adapters, making it a practical fit for bench-top drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-held power tools used in trade and light manufacturing settings.
Designed as a DIN 1897-compliant stub-length replacement drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collets accepting a 1.82 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Rated for primary use in titanium alloy workpieces and comparable hard materials.
This bit is installed by a machinist or qualified tradesperson using a keyed or keyless chuck, or a compatible collet system. Secure the shank fully in the chuck before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits. Always apply appropriate cutting fluid when drilling titanium alloy or hardened steel to manage heat buildup and extend tool life. Inspect the cutting edge before each use and retire the bit if chipping or excessive wear is observed.
