The GUHRING 9003050045000 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit sized to wire gauge No. 16, equal to 0.1772 inches in diameter. Designed for general-purpose drilling, this bit features a 118-degree cone relief point and a spiral flute with regular helix for efficient chip evacuation. The web-thinned tip reduces thrust and improves penetration into harder workpiece materials. With an overall length of 80 millimeters and a flute length of 47 millimeters, it fits standard drill chucks without adapters. Licensed HVAC techs, plumbers, pipefitters, and general maintenance tradespeople keep cobalt bits like this on hand for drilling through steel and cast iron where standard HSS bits fall short.
This drill bit is suited for use on primary workpiece materials including steel and cast iron, covering ISO material codes P and K. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 4.5 millimeter diameter seats securely in keyless or keyed chucks. Built to DIN 338 standards and manufactured under GUHRING Series 305, it fits general-purpose production and field drilling applications where dimensional accuracy and tool life in ferrous materials are required. It is sold individually with a minimum order quantity of one.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber length drill bit conforming to DIN 338, compatible with any standard drill chuck or press accepting a straight-cylindrical shank in the No. 16 wire gauge size class. Suitable for right-hand rotation drilling in steel and cast iron workpieces.
Install and operate this bit with a standard drill press, hand drill, or CNC spindle set to right-hand rotation. Secure the shank fully in the chuck jaws before operation and verify runout before drilling to prevent premature wear. Use appropriate cutting fluid or oil when drilling ferrous materials to extend tool life. Wear ANSI-rated eye protection and ensure the workpiece is firmly clamped before drilling.
