The GUHRING 9003050028700 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for general-purpose metal drilling in demanding shop and field environments. Ground to a 118-degree point angle with web thinning for easier penetration, this bit cuts in a right-hand spiral flute pattern and carries a wire size designation of No. 33, equivalent to 0.1130 inch diameter. The oxide coating adds surface hardness and reduces heat buildup during cutting. With an overall length of 61 millimeters and a flute length of 33 millimeters, it fits standard drill chucks and is sized for precise hole work in ferrous materials. Machinists, tool-and-die techs, and maintenance mechanics are the primary installers.
This bit is suited for drilling cast iron and steel in both production and maintenance-repair settings. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard keyless or keyed chucks on benchtop drill presses, handheld drills, and CNC machines. The cobalt substrate performs well in harder steels where high-speed steel bits lose their edge prematurely. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration help clear chips efficiently during through-hole and blind-hole operations. It is manufactured to DIN 338 standards, making it a direct fit wherever that specification is required.
Designed as an OEM-specification jobber drill bit conforming to DIN 338, compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks across drill presses, hand drills, and CNC spindles. Rated for primary workpiece materials cast iron and steel (material codes K and P).
This bit is installed and used by machinists and maintenance mechanics working to DIN or equivalent shop standards. Secure the shank fully in the chuck and verify zero runout before drilling to avoid premature edge wear. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for steel workpieces to extend tool life, even though the bit does not support coolant-through delivery. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or dulling is observed to maintain hole-quality tolerances.
