The GUHRING 9003010009000 is a cobalt micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in small-diameter applications. Built to DIN 1899 standards, it features a 118-degree faceted point and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration that reduces entry force and improves centering on tight-tolerance work. The overall length is 0.984 inches with a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 1.50 mm in diameter. The spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation in shallow-depth holes. This bit ships bright and uncoated, which is appropriate for applications where coating buildup tolerance is a concern. It is installed by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and precision fabricators.
The 9003010009000 is rated primarily for aluminum and secondarily for titanium alloy workpieces. It carries a flute-to-diameter ratio of 5xD and a maximum drilling depth of 0.183 inches (4.65 mm). The right-hand cut, regular spiral, and straight-cylindrical shank make it compatible with standard precision collet chucks and micro-drill chuck systems used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held precision drilling stations. Coolant-through capability is not available on this model, so flood or mist cooling at the workpiece surface is the typical approach for heat management in cobalt micro-drill applications.
Designed as an OEM-specification micro drill bit per DIN 1899 Series 301, suited for use with standard straight-cylindrical collet chucks and micro-drill chuck systems compatible with a 1.50 mm shank diameter. Primary workpiece material is aluminum; secondary workpiece material is titanium alloy.
Micro drill bits at this diameter require secure, concentric chuck clamping to minimize runout, which is the leading cause of premature breakage on sub-1 mm tooling. Ensure spindle speeds and feed rates conform to the machine manufacturer and tooling guidelines for cobalt micro drills in the target workpiece material. Coolant-through is not available on this bit, so apply flood or mist cooling externally and use peck-drilling cycles to clear chips and reduce heat buildup. Inspect the bit for chipping or flute damage before each use, as micro-diameter cobalt tooling is sensitive to side-load forces.
