The GUHRING 9003010006900 is a cobalt micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in small-diameter applications. It measures 0.0272 inches in diameter with an overall length of 0.984 inches and features a 118-degree faceted point angle. The spiral flute geometry and web-thinned, tapered web construction promote chip evacuation and reduce thrust in tight-tolerance bores. With a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 1.00 mm in diameter, it seats securely in standard collet chucks and drill chucks. This bit is built to Series 301 specification per DIN 1899 and carries a diameter tolerance of +0.000 to -0.004 mm, making it suitable for work where hole size accuracy is critical.
This micro drill bit is intended for use in machining operations where small-diameter, high-precision holes are required. Its primary rated workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metals, with secondary suitability for titanium alloys. Typical applications include precision component drilling in aerospace, medical device, and electronics manufacturing environments. The cobalt substrate provides elevated heat resistance compared to standard high-speed steel, extending tool life in harder or abrasive workpiece materials. A maximum drilling depth of 0.148 inches (3.77 mm) at a flute-to-diameter ratio of 5xD defines its recommended working range.
Designed as an OEM-style micro drill bit per DIN 1899 Series 301 for use in precision machining applications with aluminum, non-ferrous metals, and titanium alloys using standard collet or drill chuck toolholding systems.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians familiar with micro-diameter tooling. Ensure the spindle and chuck are clean and true before seating the straight-cylindrical shank to prevent runout that can snap bits at this diameter. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the workpiece material and operate at manufacturer-recommended spindle speeds for cobalt micro drills. Never force-feed a micro drill — controlled feed rate is critical to avoid bit breakage.
