The GUHRING 9002350063500 is a high speed steel extra length drill bit designed for deep hole drilling applications. Built to DIN 1869 standards, this Series 235 bit features a 118-degree point angle, web-thinned tip for easier penetration, and an oxide finish that provides basic lubricity and corrosion resistance. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6.35 mm in diameter with a shank length of 65 mm. At an overall length of 215 mm (approximately 8.46 inches) and a flute length of 150 mm (approximately 5.91 inches), it is engineered to reach depths that standard-length bits cannot access. Machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance professionals use this bit in drill presses and CNC drilling operations.
This bit is suited for general-purpose deep hole drilling in cast iron and steel as its primary workpiece materials, with aluminum listed as a secondary workpiece material. The flute-to-diameter ratio is 10xD, supporting a maximum drilling depth of approximately 5.531 inches (140.48 mm). It is appropriate for both production and maintenance drilling environments where extended reach is required without a step-down or gun-drill setup. Right-hand cutting direction with a regular spiral flute pattern ensures efficient chip evacuation over the extended flute length.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard tooling selection for operations requiring a 1/4-inch (Letter E) extra length drill bit conforming to DIN 1869 Series 235 specifications in cast iron, steel, and aluminum workpiece applications.
Install into a drill chuck or collet rated for the 6.35 mm straight-cylindrical shank and confirm runout before drilling. Ensure the workpiece is properly fixtured before engaging the spindle, particularly for deep hole operations where bit deflection risk increases. A machinist or qualified tool operator should set appropriate feed and speed parameters for the workpiece material. Inspect the web-thinned tip for chipping or wear before each use, as extra length bits are more susceptible to deflection-related damage than jobber-length bits.
