The GUHRING 9002230015100 is a screw machine length (stub) drill bit designed for precise, short-reach drilling in metalworking applications. Built to DIN 1897 standards from M2 high-speed steel with a bright, uncoated finish, this bit is ground to a 118-degree standard point angle with web thinning for easier penetration and reduced thrust. It carries a diameter of 0.0595 inches (Wire Size 53) and an overall length of 34.00 mm (1.3386 inches), making it well suited for use in screw machines, CNC lathes, and production drilling setups where rigidity and compact length are priorities. Right-hand cutting with a regular spiral flute pattern completes the standard configuration.
This stub-length drill bit is intended for production and precision drilling in steel and cast iron on both manual and CNC equipment. Its reduced overall length relative to a jobber-length bit increases rigidity and minimizes deflection in tight-tolerance holes. The straight cylindrical shank seats reliably in standard drill chucks and collet holders. Machinists, tool-and-die makers, and production drilling technicians working in metal fabrication, job shop, and manufacturing environments are the primary installers and users of this bit.
Designed as a DIN 1897 stub-length replacement drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 1.51 mm (0.0594 inch) straight cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron.
This bit is installed and used by machinists and production drilling technicians. Secure the shank fully in a properly sized drill chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable tolerance for the application. Always apply appropriate cutting fluid for steel and cast iron unless dry drilling conditions are confirmed. Inspect the cutting edges for wear or chipping before each use, as a damaged point on a small-diameter bit can cause hole oversize or breakage.
