The GUHRING 9002050023400 is a high speed steel jobber-length drill bit designed for general-purpose drilling in metal fabrication, maintenance, and machine shop applications. Built to DIN 338 standards, it features a 118-degree standard point angle and a right-hand spiral flute for efficient chip evacuation. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 2.34 mm in diameter, matching the drill diameter, and the overall length is approximately 2.09 inches (53 mm). The bright, uncoated finish indicates an M2 high speed steel construction suited for a wide range of common workpiece materials. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the primary installers and users of this bit.
This drill bit is intended for use on cast iron and steel workpieces in both production and maintenance drilling scenarios. With a regular spiral flute type and a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, it handles standard through-hole and blind-hole drilling tasks at conventional speeds. The 2-flute configuration and web-thinned, tapered web design reduce entry force and improve centering on flat or slightly curved surfaces. It is well-suited for use in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld power drills where a small-diameter precision hole is required.
Designed as a DIN 338 Series 205 general-purpose jobber drill for use in standard drill chucks accepting straight-cylindrical shanks in the 2.00 mm to 3.00 mm diameter range.
This bit is installed by machinists, maintenance technicians, or tool-and-die professionals using standard drill chucks or collet holders. Ensure the chuck or collet is clean and free of debris before seating the shank to maintain runout tolerances. Operate at appropriate spindle speeds and feed rates for the workpiece material to avoid work-hardening or premature tip wear. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; apply cutting fluid externally when drilling ferrous materials at higher depths.
