The GRUVLOK 386013346 is a FIG 7042 Branch Outlet Coupling designed to join two sections of grooved-end pipe while forming a reducing outlet connection in a single assembly. Rated to 500 psi and suitable for temperatures from -40 to 150 degrees F, this coupling uses a pressure-responsive EPDM gasket that increases sealing force as system pressure rises. The gasket seal is reinforced by a steel ring and mates to a machined housing surface for a leak-tight outlet. A ductile iron clamp body with a rust-inhibiting orange paint finish provides durability in typical mechanical piping environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters working on grooved piping systems are the primary installers.
This coupling is intended for grooved-end pipe runs in the 1-1/2 inch through 6 inch IPS or ISO run pipe size range, with outlet pipe sizes from 1/2 inch through 2 inch. The FIG 7042 series is commonly applied in commercial and industrial mechanical piping systems where a reducing branch takeoff is required without welding or threading the run pipe. EPDM gaskets suit water-based and a broad range of general-service fluid applications. This coupling is NOT recommended for vacuum service or use with beveled-end pipe.
Designed for grooved-end run pipe in the 1-1/2 inch through 6 inch IPS or ISO size range with outlet connections from 1/2 inch through 2 inch. This coupling accommodates a 4 inch run pipe with a 2 inch MNPT outlet connection. EPDM and Nitrile gasket options are available within the FIG 7042 series to suit varied fluid compatibility requirements.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter following applicable mechanical and plumbing codes. De-pressurize and drain the piping system fully before disassembling or installing any grooved coupling. Verify that run pipe ends are cut to groove specification and free of burrs, and confirm pipe ends are grooved rather than beveled before assembly. Do not use this coupling on vacuum service lines.
