The GRIP-RITE BT176100R is a precut annealed steel bar tie wire designed to secure rebar intersections and hold reinforcing grid in proper position during concrete pours. Each bag contains 100 individual ties cut to a 6-inch length at 17 gauge wire diameter. Annealed steel construction gives the wire the flexibility needed to twist tight around rebar without snapping, making fast work of tying grid on slabs, footings, and walls. This is a foundational consumable for concrete reinforcement work used daily by concrete finishers and general contractors.
BT176100R bar ties are suited for residential and light commercial concrete reinforcement applications including foundation slabs, footings, columns, and retaining walls. They are equally at home on farm and agricultural projects where wire ties are needed for fencing, framing forms, or structural concrete work. The 17-gauge diameter provides a balance of strength and workability for standard rebar grid tying tasks.
Designed for use as a standard bar tie at rebar grid intersections in typical residential and commercial concrete reinforcement applications.
Bar ties are installed by concrete and masonry tradespeople using a manual tie wire twister or hook tool. Loop the tie around the rebar intersection diagonally and twist the ends together until snug against the bars. Avoid over-twisting, which can snap the wire or weaken the connection. No power tools or special codes are required, but work should conform to applicable ACI reinforcement placement standards for the project type.
