The GREENLEE 7646 is a 4-piece hydraulic knockout set designed for punching clean, round holes in mild steel up to 10 gauge. It operates using hydraulic force, allowing a licensed electrician to drive precise, burr-minimized knockouts through electrical enclosures, junction boxes, panel covers, and conduit bodies. The set covers a hole diameter range of 1/2 inch to 2 inches, making it suitable for conduit entries from 1/2 inch trade size through 2 inch trade size. The included 746 hydraulic ram delivers the force needed to complete each knockout cycle without manual hammering. This set is built for field and shop use by electrical contractors and maintenance electricians.
The 7646 is used in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work wherever conduit entries must be added to metal enclosures. Typical applications include adding knockouts to load centers, pull boxes, meter bases, and equipment enclosures made from mild steel sheet up to 10 gauge thickness. The included step bit allows the installer to drill the pilot hole required before the punch and die are seated. The set arrives in a plastic carrying case for organized storage and transport on the job site.

Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for conduit entry preparation. De-energize all equipment and verify lockout/tagout procedures are in place before punching knockouts in any live enclosure. Use the included step bit to drill the required pilot hole before threading the draw stud through and seating the punch and die. Do not exceed the rated 10 gauge mild steel capacity, as punching harder or thicker materials can damage the tooling.
