The GREENFIELD 406-12 is a copper-clad clevis hanger designed to support 1/2-inch pipe in mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC piping systems. The copper cladding provides corrosion resistance suited to wet, damp, or chemically active environments where bare steel hangers may degrade prematurely. Rated at 150 pounds load capacity, this hanger is built for reliable long-term support. Its compact footprint — 1.7 inches in length, 1.95 inches in width, and 0.8 inches in height — makes it practical in tight spaces and areas with limited clearance between the pipe and structural members. Installation is straightforward for licensed plumbers and mechanical contractors working on suspended pipe runs.
The 406-12 is used in residential and light commercial installations where 1/2-inch pipe runs require secure overhead support. Typical applications include copper domestic water lines, hydronic heating supply and return lines, and small-diameter HVAC refrigerant or condensate piping. It fits into standard suspended ceiling and structural framing assemblies where a 3/8-inch threaded rod is used to carry the hanger. The copper-clad finish makes it especially appropriate in locations where dissimilar-metal contact with copper pipe could accelerate corrosion on uncoated steel hangers.
Designed as an OEM-style clevis hanger for 1/2-inch pipe suspended on 3/8-inch threaded rod in residential and light commercial plumbing and mechanical systems.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed plumber or mechanical contractor following IPC and local code requirements for pipe support spacing. Power down or isolate the relevant system before working on active pipe runs. Ensure the threaded rod anchor point into the structure is rated for the combined load of the pipe, fluid, and hanger. Do not exceed the 150-pound rated load capacity of the hanger.
